Figure Legend: The wrinkle test may be used to assess sensory nerve function in the unreliable patient.  For a period of months after nerve injury, denervated scan loses its ability to wrinkle when immersed in water.  Here, failure of a small finger skin to wrinkle when immersed in water for ten minutes (compared to normal adjacent ring finger) strongly suggests injury of both digital nerves of the small finger.
